FAQ

  • What is fractional yacht ownership?

Allowing multiple owners to have a shared investment interest in a single yacht. Allowing typically the same or greater average yearly usage.

  • Why is fractional ownership a good idea?

Typically a single owner must carry the hefty burden of maintaining a vessel all year with only minimal usage. With fractional ownership, you save money by paying only for the portion you are using.

Yes ! You are an owner of the yacht.

  • Can anyone tell I share the boat?

No ! The only people who will ever know is you and whoever you want to know.

  • How long is the fractional ownership term?

The purchase of an ownership interest can be sold at any time and held indefinitely (terms apply).

  • Do I get any money back when the boat sells?

Yes ! Owners receive their portion of the sale after sales fees are paid. The money received from the sale of the yacht can be withdrawn or invested in another brand new state of the art yacht. Each owner is given the first right of refusal towards the new yacht purchase.

  • Can I refer my friends to Islands Group?

Of course. As our business grows, so do your options. Additional yachts will provide for greater flexibility and opportunity for trading.

  • Am I protected financially on my yacht?

Yes. Each yacht owner will rest assured knowing that quality insurance and legal devices are implemented to maximize their assets security. This is a beneficial attraction of fractional ownership.

  • How often do I get to use my yacht?

Your amount of time available is based upon the number of ownership interest you have. A single 1/12th share grants you 30 days of usage per year and you can trade time and modify your itinerary.

  • Are Captain and Crew included?

A Captain and crew if required can be provided for a minimal additional cost. A Captain will generally be required until you have passed essential YHA training to be a skipper (we will work with you and provide training as needed)

  • Why look at our fractional program?

Yacht Ownership without the High Cost...

Yacht ownership is expensive. The considerable cost of the yacht itself and additional costs include delivery, mooring, maintenance, insurance and cleaning. Consider how often you are likely to use your yacht in a year. Does sole ownership make economical sense?

Yacht Ownership without the Hassle...

Yacht ownership is time consuming. To keep your yacht in the best possible condition requires time and effort. Would you rather spend your hard earned holidays on the water or elbow deep in oil and maintenance?
